This lock is face mounted. Screw mounting holes are driled through the face of the lock.
Same lock but with the conduit fitting::
The “G” option adds a 1/2" female-3/4" male universal
conduit fitting to allow conduit wiring for
outdoor installations. The “G” version is also
useful for surface wired installations on concrete
filled door frames. This avoids the cost
of drilling a wire way in the concrete.
FACE MOUNT VERSION
INSWINGING DOOR MOUNT
Standard Magnalocks are suspended from
the door frame so that the door swings away
from the magnet body, This is the preferred
mounting method, but if the door swings into
the protected area, security considerations
may dictate that the lock is mounted on the
inswinging side of the door. The “F” option
provides for face mounting on the header
above the door. Mounting holes are drilled
through the magnet face and the wire exit is
to the rear. The Z-32/62/82 bracket is normally
used with “F” Magnalocks.
Please note:
Because of the wide variety of gates in existence, each installation has to be considered special
and normally, bracketry must be made up on site. The concept is to mount the magnet on a
fixed post and the strike plate to the swinging or sliding member of the gate. Position both
components so that the strike plate slaps against the magnet face on closure. Usually, the
"GF" version of the Magnalock is used for gates. "G" calls out a conduit fitting mounted on the
magnet end and "F" calls out mounting holes through the face. The magnet
typically screws onto a back plate fashioned on site and the back plate is welded onto the fixed
post.
Often on gate installations a Z bracket is used We have found this manufacturer to be extremely user friendly !
