We sell only products that offer good value and when you deal with
us, you're never locked in to just one brand. When you buy from us you're not buying from a
department store or general type of store that can't answer your questions. After
being in business for 30 years we know our stuff.
But please, don't call or e-mail us to ask
how to change lock combinations or re-configure readers. For security reasons we can't do this.
At our store we want your shopping experience to be enjoyable and secure.
The purchase area of our site is secure.
This means that any information you send us is protected by encryption.
It's easy to tell when you are protected by encryption - the lock or key at the bottom of your browser
changes color or is no longer broken. Or an s (for secure) precedes the web address in your browser.
If you find anything on our site to be unclear please let us know so we can correct it.
Please keep in mind that there is a 25% re-stocking fee on items returned or refused for reasons other than defects or incorrect shipments,
so before ordering, try to be sure that the item you're ordering
is the one you need. If the item box or instructions are ripped there may be a higher fee since it may be difficult to sell. Sorry about this but
most manufacturers do not allow opened non-defective items to be
returned for credit or exchange.
Explain to us what type of installation you have in mind and we'll help you chose the
right product and hopefully avoid returns. You can call us or email or IM us online and we will be happy to help you choose the correct items. The following can not be returned: Special orders, high security locks, cylinders and keys such as Medeco, special factory orders, software and books, locksmith tools and any item that has been installed. We reserve the right to refuse to accept any order from anyone.
If an item is defective within the warranty period just send it to the manufacturer.
Most of them are very reasonable and responsible although they all have different warranty times.
Please note - Important!: When taking delivery of a safe, please inspect safe and safe carton before signing the delivery ticket. Not doing so may forfeit your rights to return. If you note any damage you must note this damage on the delivery ticket and make sure they understand they (the shipper) needs to then file a claims report. The best thing to do at this point is to refuse shipment and note this on the delivery ticket. Please call us and let us know you have refused delivery. Claims of partial delivery or of missing parts for any items and not only safes, must be made within one week after delivery and no later.
Generally
speaking-when they fail it's usually right out of the box
and not after installation. There are some companies that
are more forgiving than others and often are nice enough to
take back and repair or replace long after the warranty
ends. Some companies are outstanding in this respect. Securitron now offers a
lifetime warranty and next day replacement on their products. Each company has a different warranty for their
products. If you should ever have a problem with a product
we can often help as go between to get things moving.
Please do not send us
an item without first contacting us
or we cannot accept it. Be sure to send it back by UPS
and insure and double box it. Item must be in resellable condition or we will return it back to you or deduct an appropriate amount from the refund. Sorry but some special order
items and software and books can not be returned and all orders over 30 days old can not be returned.
For orders to Hawaii and Alaska the additional shipping
charges will be added
*All fees include insurance
Up to $200 is $15.95
$200 to $300 is $16.95
$300 to $500 is $22.95
$500 to $750 is $24.95
$750 to $899 is $28.95
$900 to $949 is $32.95
$950 to $999 is $46.95
$1000 and over is $70.95
(Please note that on very heavy items such as safes extra fees may be added although that's rare and much more often we pay for the extra shipping fees. These are fees that are charged us by the shipping company)
Please do not ask us to leave your package on the porch or in the garage because this is not up to us - it's always the UPS driver's choice whether or not it's safe in his opinion to leave a package when you're not home - never ours.

Sales tax is only charged to Florida orders - other states do not pay a sales tax.
Almost everything sold here is weatherproof or weather resistant.
Most of the new electronic locks now are available in weatherproof models. Check each model
description if this is a concern.
A user code is simply the code that each person is given. With mechanical pushbutton locks there is only
one code but most electronic locks and keypads can have many, some as many as several hundred.
On some products it's important to know the handing of the lock. Here is an easy way to figure this out: stand on the side of the door that you can see the
hinges. If the lock is on the right side of the door (hinges on the left) you'll need a
right hand lock, if the lock is on the left side of the door (hinges on the right) you'll
need a left hand lock. Also, next to the pictures of most lever locks we show you a left or
right hand lock as a guide. See handing diagram
The backset is the distance between the edge of the door to
the center of the main hole. The main hole is usually a round
2 1/8" diameter that the body of the lock fits through. The
distance is usually 2 3/8" or 2 3/4". Today, most commercial
and industrial doors are set for 2 3/4". The trend has been for more private homes set this way also. These are
the two most common backsets. When measuring the backset
make sure to do it carefully. The difference is small
and it's easy to make a mistake, especially if you're measuring with the lock still on the door. You may have noticed that on cheaper lock hardware
the backset often is variable. But this is not the case
with the better quality heavy duty locksets. (I wish I knew why!) See backset
diagram
The thickness of a door can be an important factor. Most
locks will accommodate doors from 1 3/8" through 2". Most exterior doors made today are 1 3/4". Many interior doors are 1 3/8".Some
locks will fit on any of these doors right out of the box and others may need
to be ordered for a particular size. When ordering, it's
always a good idea to measure your door first and let us know
the size.
Push-button latch locks usually come as the following function: From the inside, the knob or lever is always free
to turn and to unlock, in one motion. From the outside, always in the locked postion. In other words, when the doors
is closed, the lock will lock automatically. This is how
these type of locks are usually ordered. On some of these
locks there are ways to temporarily disable this function
and change it to a passage function. A passage function will
allow you to exit and close the door and then re-enter by turning the handle, knob or lever without having to enter the combination. On some locks this feature is only available as a special order and on others this option
isn't available at all. If you're not sure which one you need,
please tell us about your installation before ordering and
we'll help you figure out which one you need.
Regular keyed locks can be installed with a cylinder (the
keyed part) also on the inside of the door. It's an
option that is sometimes used when a door has smaller
glass panels. This way a burglar can't break the glass and
open the lock by putting his hand in because he would still need
the key. This type of installation is not always appropriate
because of the fire safety issue. As a matter of fact, it's
even illegal to use a double side lock in many parts of
the U.S.
Most keyless technology is not set up for double sided
useage. If in your intallation you think it's important
to use double sided options first check with your local
fire authorities. A couple ways to do a double sided
installation would be: Placing a keypad such as the
Nel-Tech or Securitron on either side of the door (inside
and out). Or by using two proximity readers, one on the inside and the other outside.
Another alternative: the lock company Unican will modify one of their
heavy duty mechanical push-button models
for double sided function. Please call or email if you think
this is the way you want to go.
When ordering please keep in mind that many of these products
are very new and often only avilable in limited quantity. We
don't always have all the products that you see in our
store in stock. Also, some brands are sometimes difficult
to stock and need to be special ordered. Often an alternate
product may work just as well and be available immediately.
Sometimes we will list one or more alternate products so you
have a choice of waiting for the original item or having
another equivalent item sent to you sooner. They may or may not be priced the same but will always be close. Features
will vary to some degree but we will always explain the differences and give you the choice of which you prefer.
All of the electric locks and other components need a power
source to operate. Since everything in our store is low
voltage, they will need either a battery or a low voltage
power supply. The stand alone electronic digital locks
take either regular AA or AAA batteries. The only exception to this are the Kaba Mas Locks. These locks are
electronic but have the capability to self generate power
by pushing down on its lever. They are unique.
All the other items in our store require low voltage DC
power from either a back up battery or a DC power supply or a plug in transformer. Some will also accept low voltage AC and some are so versatile that
they will accept almost any low voltage source from around
10 to 24 volts AC or DC. If you're not sure about which voltage you'll need give us a call.
Lock and system installations should be completed by a qualified installer only. The Keyless Lock Store assumes no liability if product is installed incorrectly. Please see owners installation manual for further details.
Please see the glossary page for more useful information.
