Exceptional Roman bronze key with panther decorated handle. Dated around 1st century AD. Length 5cm - about 1 1/2 inches. Light green patina. Beautiful condition. Just about as nice as the day it was made! And it may be preserved so well because it may in fact be a counterfeit key! Yes they counterfeit keys. We have noticed that these are coming onto the market lately and we believe they are made recently in eastern Europe, possibly Bulgaria.
