It used to be that you had no alternative - an ANSI 2-3/4” faceplate 115.3 standard frame prep had to be substantially modified to accomodate a standard 4-7/8” strike.To say the least, installation was time consuming. A smaller, more compact strike could measurably reduce the problem.

Requires little frame alteration.

May be used with latches up to 5/8” throw - this is based on 1/8” door gap
